Jacob Sheep Senior Ewes

All of the Jacob ewes on this page have lambed at least once and raised the lamb(s) to weaning.

All of our Jacob ewes trace back to the ewes of Fine Fettle Farm, which maintains a closed flock of

ewes descended from the Lasseau flock, only bringing in an outside ram every few years.  We

purchased our first 3 ewes & 2 rams from Fine Fettle Farm in 2005 & 2006.  It wasn't until 2010, that

we learned the sheep were more closely related than we originally thought, we assumed they were

from different rams, OOPS!

The three ewes we purchased in 2010 are also Lasseau descendants through a ewe purchased from

Fine Fettle Farm by Rev. Betty Berlenbaugh of Maple Hill Farm.  We just keep acquiring more Lasseau

ewes without even trying.

Senior Ewes

JM Farm Sarah   DOB: 2/2005  JSBA Reg. FF057-08

Jacob sheep ewe 4 horned 40% black Sarah

 Sire: unknown Stoney Acres ram?

Dam: unknown Lasseau ewe

Sarah was purchased from Fine Fettle Farm in 2005 as part of our first breeding trio.  She has a wonderfully long fleece and pleasant disposition.  She has given us several ewes that were sold and several rams, including the current herdsire, JM Farm Panterra's Benjamin. In 2011, she gave us a beautiful ewe lamb, JM Farm Panterra's Jessica.

JM Farm Rebecca DOB: 4/2005 JSBA Reg. FF058-08

Jacob sheep ewe 2 horned 15% black Rebecca

Sire: unknown Stoney Acres ram?

Dam: unknown Lasseau ewe

Rebecca also came from Fine Fettle Farm in 2005.  She has a long fleece with minimal markings on the body. She has produced several nice lambs, including JM Farm Abraham's Joanna and 2 wethers, Nehemiah and Joel. In 2011, she gave us a gorgeous ewe lamb, JM Farm Benjamin's Charity.

JM Farm Deborah DOB: 3/2006  JSBA Reg. FF059-08

Jacob sheep ewe 2 horned 15% black DebbieSire: unknown Stoney Acres ram?

Dam: unknown Lasseau ewe

Debbie also came from Fine Fettle Farm.  She was purchased as a bottle lamb with a broken rear leg.  We treated her leg and watched as she grew stronger, until she could run and play with the others.  She has managed to raise her single lambs on her own (we do take a twin if she has them, 2 lambs is too much stress for her leg).  She has had 2 beautiful ewes, JM Farm Lucky's Bethany and JM Farm Pepito's Delilah.  She also has 1 granddaughter in the flock. In 2011, she birthed a lovely ewe lamb, JM Farm Panterra's Hope.

JM Farm Abraham's Joanna DOB: 4/2007 JSBA FF060-08

Jacob sheep ewe 4 horned 15% black Joanna
Sire: Abraham

Dam: JM Farm Rebecca FF058-08

  Sire: unknown Stoney Acres ram?

  Dam: unknown Lasseau ewe

Joanna is one of the first ewes born on the farm.  She has 4 horns, all of which she managed to break before the age of 6 months.  She has a shorter fleece than her mother and is minimally marked.  She has produced several nice ram lambs.

JM Farm Abraham's Naomi  DOB: 4/2007 unregistered

Jacob sheep 4 horned ewe 40% black Naomi
Sire: Abraham

Dam: Dahlia

Naomi is an unregistered Jacob ewe. Both of her top horns are growing over her face.  Since she has this fault, we did not try to register her. Her mother is the only ewe that does not trace back to Fine Fettle Farm(she was rescued from squalid living conditions with another ewe). Naomi has a shorter, more compact fleece than some of the others.  She does produce beautiful ewe lambs, including JM Farm Lucky's Magdelene and JM Farm Pepito's Jamisen, a 5 horn ewe.
